Just to prove you don't need to own a post 68 to make a Baja Bus here's a photo of an early Bus competing in the 1968 Baha 1000!!  Check out those cut guards and big wheels.

Finally I get a picture of another Bus!!!! I know next to nothing about it except it's owned by Mick in Queensland Australia.  It's running a 1600DP engine and he says :-

"I've been driving it to the coast and it seems alright"

So there you have it, although I should point out it's not a full camper so weight is down, looks pretty cool though with nicely shaped rear guards and a serious frontal lift.

And look!!! Another... You guys on a roll or something, busily building Baja Buses??  This one belongs to Paul and he had this to say about it :-

"it's plagued with a 1600 sp so the 27" rear tires (B.F.Goodrich all terrains) are as big as can handle for now. the rear spring plates are turned a spline for lift and the front shocks have clamp-on coil over helper springs. Still just stock tires on the front unfortunatley.

"paint brush" paint job, front mounted spare tire with custom made (by me) bike rack, surf board racks on the roof, cd stereo system. bed in the back and tie dyed curtains. yes there's more than one way to get dirty in my kombi!"

Hmm, not an advocate of big tires and a 1600 engine... although his is a single port motor.
