My husband and I will be traveling all the way down to the end of Baja next year, we plan on 3 months. We will be driving and camping, we are interested in others that have done this and the best places to go and the ones that you would not return to. We will have our two dogs (they have been to Baja in 06 for a month). We like to surf, fish and walk on the beach, I'm into fishing, will be surf fishing and using a float tube, and may go out on a fishing boat as well, we want to travel both the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific side as well. We are not into anything fancy, no resorts, that is not our speed, we are old beach bums. And like the slow lane, thanks and I hope to hear some of your stories as well. My first trip was to San Felipe in 06 with my two dogs, I drove my Jeep from Oregon and camped on the beach, I was alone and had no problems, I stayed around the fisherman and they were really nice, I always made extra food and gave it to them, and they in return made sure I had plenty of shimp and fish, there is a great place to get clams on the beach I stayed at as well, most everyone was very nice.
Thanks, Wanda

I have some information for a small portion of your planned trip down the Baja. While in the La Paz area, a great place to stay is at Campestre Maranatha located 11 km north of La Paz. Campestre Maranatha is about a 7 acre camp used primarily by the local churches and schools. The camp has dorms, bungalows, modern kitchen facilities, laundry facilities, playground area, large pool and 12 fully equiped RV sites with 15 amp and 30 amp electrical hookups, water and sewer hookups. The RV sites are separated from the "camp" area. The price is very reasonable. Also, there is a cafe Exquisito located on the edge of the property equiped with wi-fi for the computer folks. The administrators of the camp Jose and Cindy are friendly and easy to get along with. Cindy speaks english if that is needed. You can call Cindy at 011 52 612 124 6275. Hope this is helpful.
