If large cities in the Peninsula of Baja California, Mexico such as the capital city of Ensenada, the tourist hot spot which is Los Cabos or the spring break capital of Tijuana are brimming with small and large hotels and resorts, you would be surprised that some small towns and villages in Baja not exactly like them when it comes to accommodations. Small cities and towns such as the fishing town of Bahía Asunción for instance, does not have dozens and dozens of one star motels to five star luxury hotels like its neighboring big cities. Bahía Asunción is actually a well-kept secret paradise that not a lot of tourists, vacationers, travelers and Baja lovers in general know of. It is well tucked away somewhere in the middle of the peninsula, along its western shores where it faces the abundantly vast and bountiful Pacific Ocean. The town is rather small, with a population of about 800 only. And it is this peaceful, close-to-nature and quaint atmosphere of Bahía Asunción that makes it so appealing to those few people who know about its existence and whereabouts.

There are a couple of hotels, vacation rentals and inns which guests and tourists in Bahía Asunción can choose from. However, do not expect these Bahía Asunción accommodations to be one of those large and modern luxury chain hotels you see in busy cities everywhere else. Most of the Bahía Asunción hotels and lodging accommodations reflect the character and appeal that Bahía Asunción is known for.

The Blowhole Bed and Breakfast is probably the closest you can get to a hotel in Bahía Asunción. The Bahia Asuncion Beach House is a comfortable and fully-furnished beach house located along a beautiful beach which a family or a group of friends would love for its location, space and amenities. There is also the very affordable Casa Naranja which has rates around $50 for couples and $20 per person, quite a find too for backpackers and vacationers on a tight budget. The San Roque Rustic Beach House and Guest House is a favorite of those who enjoy fishing, swimming, snorkeling and other water sports while the Sunset Casita is a cozy and romantic lodging accommodation.
